Artist's Description

The marri (sometimes known as redgum) is one of the most widely distributed eucalypts in the southwest of Western Australia
Height to 40m, rough bark, flowers are white, however, a small number have been found producing pink flowers. Flowers in Jan, Dec through to May.

This photo was taken in my garden. I bought the tree as a 'dwarf hybrid' in 2013, but it appears to have reverted, as did the other 3 'dwarf' gum trees I purchased at the same time. This one was only supposed to grow to 9 ft, but it's taller than that now and a bit of a concern as it's heading towards a power line. Ooops. Looks like it might be an ongoing pruning job, but the bees love it and when it's flowering it is just sooooo impressive.
