Description
Very often found in bushland, but these wild gladioli were blooming profusely on each side of a street in close proximity to a townsite in Western Australia. En masse they put on a really spectacular display. It's hard to think of them as a weed, but they are.
Gladiolus are cormous perennials native to South Africa that grow to 0.8 m high. In spring their bright pink flowers stand out in bushland. The leaves have a distinctive red margin and are slightly twisted. ... It will generally survive fire and a fire in bushland can bring stimulate corms out of dormancy.

Such lovely flowers. I used to grow Gladiolus in my home gardens years ago. I think it would be awesome to see these growing wild. :)
Elaine Teague replied:
The wild ones have a much smaller flower Len so not as awesome as the ones you grew in your garden. These wild ones need to be seen en masse for a spectacle.
