Description
In 1859 Walter Padbury became the first European to take up land in the district. Padbury was followed by other settlers and very slowly a small village grew up on the banks of Balingup Brook. .. In 1933, in response to a booming dairy industry, the Balingup Cheese Factory was established
It closed in 1977 and is now one of the most interesting places to visit in Balingup. It houses a variety of arts and crafts, including pottery, wood crafted objects and furniture as well as antiques. There is also a café attached to relax in after exhausting yourself walking through this vast array of artefacts and don’t forget to take a trip down the stairs where all the furniture and antiques are displayed.
