Description
Taken in my backyard in Bridgetown, Western Australia.
15 years ago, when we took over our property, this tree was virtually lying prostrate due to lack of sunlight from other trees. We have gradually straightened it up and it is now particularly splendid and showy.
Leptospermum is a genus of shrubs and small trees in the myrtle family Myrtaceae commonly known as tea trees, although this name is sometimes also used for some species of Melaleuca.

A beautiful blossom-laden tree! I notice the stake and the tie. Such a tree would be very vulnerable in high winds!
Elaine Teague replied:
Thank you Bette. This tree was so bent when we moved in 15 years ago we have had to straighten it very gradually.
