Description
Such a surprise to find large patches of sundew growing on my front verge in Bridgetown, Western Australia. We had never planted sundew on our verge and this is the first time I have seen any appear.
This common sundew, endemic to Australia, is a carnivorous species of flowering plant that grows in bogs, marshes and fens. Sundews trap and digest insects on sticky leaves covered with enzyme-secreting nectar. They are found all over the world.
