Ellendale Pool is on the Walkaway-Nangetty Road about 40Kms south of Geraldton which is about 400Kms north of Perth. It is a spectacular location which is frequented by campers and day trippers. Swimming is a popular pastime in the pool and also, for the brave-hearted, diving off the rocky cliffs which rise majestically on one side. The pool is a water hole, thought to be bottomless owing to the fact that, as yet, no high divers have hit their head. It has naturally formed along the Greenough River and is surrounded by gorge and the beauty of eucalypts. Lots of wildlife here too. A thoroughly enjoyable visit.
